So Embarrassed...

Let me just start by saying, be ever so careful when you take pictures with your cell phone.  You never know who might see them.  With that being said... this morning, when the cleaning ladies were over, I overheard Swayze showing Edila some pictures.  I had just assumed she was showing her the pictures on the wall.  Next thing I know, I hear Swayze say, "Wook Edila, that'th my dad!"  And then I hear a roar of laughter, so I came out into the hall to see which picture she was talking about.  Edila then handed my my phone.  Oh. My. Goodness.  I knew exactly which picture she had seen.  A few months ago, I was walking past the bathroom and my Tommy was doing his "biz-nass," pants around his ankles, talking on his cell phone and on his COMPUTER.  I couldn't resist, so I snapped his picture.  He quickly threatened me with my life if I ever put it on the blog.  I have been oh so tempted a few times to post it, i.e. remember him taking me to the top of "Mount Everest" last weekend in Utah?  Tempting my darlings.  Very tempting.

Anyhoo, I made Edila pinky swear promise me that she wouldn't tell Tommy she had seen the picture.  Meanwhile, 2 hours later, as I'm sitting here typing, I can still hear her cackling around the house.  I'm so wishing now that I had paid better attention in Mrs. Lindgren's Spanish class instead of getting my flirt on with David Viveiros.  Or maybe not.  Maybe it's better I don't know what they're saying.  Ugh.

Couples Trip To Utah...

We had such a great time last weekend on a ski trip with a bunch of friends from the hood.  I hadn't skied in 10+ years and was never good, even back then, but when the Funks invited us up to their place in Midway, we couldn't pass it up.  I figured it was finally time to put my big-girl panties on and give skiing another try.  You see, my Tommy is a fabulous skier and I pretty much suck at it.  Now, you'd think that for my first run, my sweetheart would take me down the bunny hill, or a green run at most, but no.  After a 10 minute, excruciating ride on the mountain up flippin' Mount Everest (that was just about enough to do me in right then and there, having motion sickness and all.  Thanks goodness I was well-equipped with my Southwest barf bags) I'm thinking, 'wait a freaking minute here!  This doesn't look like the bunny hill to me.  I realized I was so screwed.  He took me down a blue run.  Let me just say, when I finally made it to the bottom (4 crashes, a few choice words here and there, and an hour and a half later), believe you me, I was just about ready to serve him papers.  He knew better.  It took everything in me to not bawl like a baby, so I just sucked it up.

So I think it's pretty safe to say, I really wasn't looking too forward to skiing the next day, but long story short, I finally had it somewhat figured out by the end of the day.  I was a little surprised when a member of the U.S. Ski Team stopped me for my autograph and offered me a spot on their team. :)  After we got home, I asked Tommy, "So on a scale from 1-10, just how good am I now?"  And do you know what that little squirt had the nerve to say? "1."  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  A 1?!  I was thinking more along the lines of about a 6 or so.  Oh well.  There's always next year.

Isn't she bee-utiful?

Before hitting the slopes at Snowbasin with some serious butterflies in my stomach.

Aww, just look at these two lovebirds.

Day 2, skiing at Park City.  I won't tell you what Tommy's nickname is for this resort.  Ok, you talked me into it - Park *&%#!@ - tty. And never mind how bright the sun was.  You know it's bad when I can't even look at the camera for a glamour shot.

Dinner at The Last Samurai.  I suck at catching the shrimpies.  I think I'm 0 for 17.  I have yet to catch one.

Trying to catch some shrimp.  Not the most glamorous shot.  Why on earth am I opening my mouth when Tommy is trying to catch his shrimp?  So ugly.

All gussied up before hitting up  the Grand America for brunch.

The Funktified's, the Draughon's, Stapley's, Allen's, and the Fishbeck's.  The Robison's (not pictured) left a day early.  Tommy must've driven them crazy.

"Like, I Have NO Idea Like, Who She Like, Gets It From, For Reals!"

As much as I love the whole Malibu Barbie talk, I want my old Keagan back.  I think it's pretty safe to say she gets the valley-girl talk from her mother.  We were in the car the other night, and I was telling Tommy something and he said, "I think you just used the word 'like about 50 times in that sentence."  Hmmph!  So I'm really trying to not say it as much.  Maybe I should start a "like" jar.  You know, sorta like a "swear" jar.  You put a buck in every time you use the word "like."  It's gonna be pretty, like painful.

Soda Springs

I'm a little behind on posting, but on Valentine's weekend, our friends, the Reebs invited us to their dude ranch a few hours away.  They're always so good to us.  We had an absolute blast (without the little Swaz-nasty, which was doubly fun - thanks Shelley!)  This place was pretty amazing.

This is the boys' idea of "roughing it."  Poor things forgot to bring Rock Band.

One of the things I love about Keagan is that she has always been very self-entertaining (unlike my other 2 children).  She didn't have any little buddies up there to play with, so she decided to whip up some delicious "oreo balls."

A little fun on the Rhino.

She didn't want to look while Tag was driving.  Smart thinking Keags, I wanted to close my eyes too.

Tag trying to make nice with the cows after chasing them in the Rhino.  Good luck with that, Buddy.

Real Frickin' Funny Tommy!

No, this is not a re-post.  That's right folks.  Numero flippin' SEVEN!!  I think he didn't want me to feel left out on my birthday, since he had gotten 2 on his,  so he decided to be a gentleman and get one on mine as well.  Sweet guy.  I must say, I definitely think he's getting more and more handsome in these photo radar pics.

At the rate Tommy's going, with these suckers, I don't think there's any need for a government bailout.  The Stapleys' have it covered.  You're welcome Obama.

Hey, It's A Step In The Right Direction, Right?

Apparently Keagan has changed her mind about what she wants to be when she grows up.  This week, it's the Tooth Fairy.

Pretty Darn Proud Of Myself

So... I think it's pretty safe to say that I definitely didn't get the crafty artistic genes in my family.  If you want something modge-podged, or whatever it's called, Kim is your go-to gal.  If you want something hand-painted to put on a wall in your childrens' room, then you'll want to talk to Andi about that one.  Now, me?  Hmmmm... well, I love shopping and reality t.v.  I AM NOT CRAFTY!  However, I was getting my hair done the other day and my friend, Rhonda showed me this cute little valentine one of their clients had given them.  It was a conversation heart box wrapped to make a little iPod valentine.  So cute!!  I thought, 'ok, how hard can that be to make?  So it wasn't all that hard to make, but I'm telling you, I have never but maybe about twice in my entire life have used a glue gun.  I was quickly reminded why the two of us aren't on friendly terms.  My entire right hand is still burning from that little mother (not to mention the carpal tunnel in my right thumb from all the cutting.)

33 iPod valentines (for Tag's class) later, I think I'm gonna hit up Sonic for a Route 44, hunker down, do a little online shopping, watch "Survivor" and call it a day.

"Come On Down!"

Some friends and I had the chance to go on the "Price Is Right" a while back.  None of us were chosen (sniff, sniff), but I did mage to make it into the camera's view several times.  I personally think think we weren't chosen because we were all showered, hair did (no, that's not a misspelling), makeup done, you know, looking somewhat cute.  Next time (if there is ever going to be a next time since we had to be in line at 5:00 am) I'm going to not shower for a week, whip out my glitter glue and scribble some stupid nonsense on  ratty t-shirt and tell them I'm from Apache Junction.

I think my sister Kim forgot I was turning 32, not 5.  This is what she sent me for my birthday.  Sadly, she knows me all too well.  I've been quite the smitten kitten playing "Plinko" every chance I get.  Not quite the eBay cash register I was hoping for, but this'll do.  I have to admit, I've been a little stingy about letting the kids play with it.  They keep losing my dang "Plinko" chips.

It Doesn't Get Much Better...

Really, who doesn't love waking up to a fresh, rip-your-throat Route 44 Diet Coke with lime and Krispy Kreme doughnuts at 7:30 in the morning?  Nothing better than a sugar headache to start off the day.  Sweet guy, Krispy Kreme isn't exactly just around the corner.

(My boobie really isn't as saggy as it looks in this picture.)

Tommy's parents gave us the night off and watched the kids while Tommy and I went out to dinner, then came back for birthday cake.  Keagan was in charge of the candles.  She got a little creative this year, so for the "32," she put 3 candles on the left side of the cake, and 2 on the right side.  Pretty funny.  Tag was MIA, he was at basketball practice.  Thanks for all the emails, my "heart-attacked" door, facebook lovin', phone calls, texts, neighbor treats, blog posts (Andi) and cards.  I love you all.

"Can't We All Just Get Along?"

When I was younger, each year on my dad's birthday we used to ask him what he wanted for his birthday.  His reply, "I just want my family to all get along."  I seriously thought that was thee lamest answer.  EVER.  That is, until I started having kids of my own.  I swear, some days I wonder if my kids love each other at all.  So this year I sat them all down and told them that is what I want this year for my birthday.  For my kids to get along for just one day. ONE DAY.  I told them to pretend if they have to, even if it kills them.  I might've even thrown a bribe or two in there.  Hey whatever it takes!  I'm crossing every last finger and toe.
